thermostat and the cap on the tank even tried to get all the air
out of the system do you think that it could be the water pump or
what please help

Answer
Hi Mackel:
Did this car overheat at one time? If that is the case then I would possably suspect a cracked cylinder head or a blown head gasket. You can get an additive to put in the cooling system and if there is exhaust gases getting into the cooling system and pushing the coolant out the additive will change colors to show the fact that system is being pressurized by the exhaust gases. This is a common issue on these if it over heated bad enough. If it overheated the root cause to may be a leaking water pump or a leaking lower intake manifold gasket. Do the electric cooling fan work on this car? does the a/c still work if so start up the car and run it for a minute or 2 with the a/c on if the ambient outside temapture is hot enough to let the a/c run it should turn the fan(s) on before the engine reaches operating temp. The a/c system turns on the fan beore enegine temp will turn them on.
