Pontiac Repair: pont.6000, pontiac 6000, catalitic converter

87 pontiac 6000, acts like its starving for fuel. did pressure test and get a steady 9-10 psi. changed fuel filter,plugs wires map sensor, im at my wits end.please help. its got 2.5L

Any service engine soon lamp on? does it run like it's not "breathing" properly like it has a restricted exhaust system? possably a plugged catalitic converter? take the front pipe off at the exhaust manifold and drive it and see what it feels like then.. You can have a sensor that's going bad and not sencing the engine load like a MAP sensor. Did you check the fuel pressure while driving the engine? it should drop below that lower # especially under a heavy engine load. if it does the pump is on it's way out and it can't supply enough volume that the engine needs.
