Pontiac Repair: Grand Prix Electrical issue, low beams, grand prix gt

Question
QUESTION: A 2004 Grand Prix GT 3800 V6 has a front DRL that doesn't work and I have changed the lightbulb twice and it still doesn't work. When I changed the lightbulb the first time it worked for a day or two and then it went out I think that there might be a short or something.I checked all the fuses and they look like they are still  working good. At the base of the lightbulb it looked like it was a little bit melted on one side as well. Anything you have got will be really helpful?

ANSWER: Hi Jason:

If the connctors look melted then replace them. If they over heated at all then you have a high resistance issue or the connector spread aprat and you have a bad connection. Start there. Do the Hi and Lo Beams work manually when you turn on the headlamps and toggle between hi and lo beams? If not then you have a base head lamp issue and it's affecting the DRL operation. Good luck :)

QUESTION: The hi and low beams are working just fine. I have the one DRL working on the driver side and the passenger side is not working. When the headlights are turned on the orange driving light turns on it is just when the lights are in daytime running mode and when i attempt to turn right the light doesn't work?

Answer
I would still replace the suspect connector for the headlamp bulb due to the fact it over heated if it's not the cause right now it will be in the future. that said It sould to me laike the issue may be in nthe DRL control module being that the other side lamps are working fine.
