Pontiac Repair: Scratchy FM voice reception on 2009 VIBE radio, voice reception, fm modulator

Question
Further to my 2009 VIBE question on Aug. 19/09 re scratchy FM voice reception on one specific, local station, the GM dealer and I have discovered that the voice quality becomes fine if we remove the radio antenna! However, as all the other local FM stations are less powerful than the problematic one, I can't receive them with the antenna removed.

The dealer checked with "headquarters" and was told to check any other VIBE on the lot. Bingo, the problem was there too.

So, this is not just my problem. It appears that the 2009 VIBE radios have a problem and that appears to be that a very strong station can overload the radio, resulting in modulation(?) problems.

Thanks.

Answer
That kind of mirrors what I was saying about the way the radio processes the signal. And I would not recommend going with and aftermarket radio like I said. Also like I said an XM radio receiver with an FM modulator will have the same issue with talk radio. Unless Engineering comes up with a fix being that 2 cars do the exact same thing GM will deem this "normal opertaion" even is you find it annoying.
