Pontiac Repair: check guages, pontiac sunfire, safe bet

Hi,

I bought a 99 pontiac sunfire from a private owner and now  the "Check Guages" light pops for a while and then goes off.  Comes back on for a while and off. What does that mean?  All the guages reads nornal.  Could it be a short or wireloose?

if all the gauges are reading normal and it's not low of fuel It's a safe bet that the issue is in the IPC it's self. The Ipc in that cars is a "smart cluster" it is not just a cluster assebly it is a control module meaning it thinks for it's self and is not just the indicators. I think the module in the cluster it turning the lamp on intermittantly.. it's going to need to be replaced sooner or later more things in the cluster will stop working just a guess, Untill then I don't think you have to worry about it. It's just a nucence right now..
