Answer
Hi MArcellus:
when does it isfire under a normal light accelertaion or under a heavy load? It could be a bad ignition coil breaking down under a load.Or you could have an issue here with fuel delivery a fuel pump that can't keep up with the demand of the engine. A carburetor that is either flooding over and bogging it down or is to lean and cusin a lean misfire. I assume the parts you installed on this are all "good" quaility parts and not bargin basement replacement parts. Use only ac delco plugs stay a way from champion plugs. Wire only use Delco wires or from a good parts store like NAPA or Carquest their good quality level of parts, They sell cheap stuff as well. How about the basics the base timing is right on with the vacuum advance disconnected. You have the vacuum advance attached to ported vacuum and not manifold vacuum? hoe about the distributor it's self the mechanical advance is working under the rotor?
