Question
i got 91 pontiac grandam 2/5 i was wondering is there any way to check inginition module changed coils about 2000 miles ago help for a while car missing spitting back  again new plugs burning clean

Answer
Hi Bobby:

No ther is really no way to tets the module but those were known to go bad on those engines along with crank shaft position sensors. that is on the bottom side of the module and goes through the engine block to get the siganl from the crank sensor. If your going to take this apart do yourself the favor and change them both at thge same time! It's a pain to change and you don't want to do this job 2 times. Make sure you don not snap the sensor off in the block! wonce yoyu get the assembly loose twist it back and forth whle pulling out on it from the engine. The seal on the crank sensor swells up and makes it hard to get it out of the block! Also make sure you have a good set of QUALITY wires on this car. NO CHEAP aftermarket wires. Either AC Delco wires or a GOOD set of plug wires from either NAPA or Carquest.
