Pontiac Repair: CAR WANT START, factor security, key switch

I HAVE A 2004 GRAND AM,ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO I WAS PARK THE CAR WAS TRUNED OFF,GOT READY TO LEAVE CAR WOULD NOT START.MOBILE MECHENIC COME OUT AND SAID THAT THE ALARM SYSTEM HAD CAUSED THE PROBLEM.PULLED THE KEY SWITCH DID SOMETHING TO IT, CAR START.WHAT DID HE DO ?AND WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX IT NOW?

Does it crrnk and not start? does it not crank at all? does it start and stall? It depends on which way I send you to start looking for an issue. My guess is you have a factor security system issue. It's VERY common for the ignition lock housing on these cars to go bad. ususally when this happens the car will not start and the security lamp starts flashing on the dash. Let me know more of the symptoms and I can try to help you out some more.
