Pontiac Repair: 1991 Grand Am, wire colors, wire sensor

I have a 1991 Grand Am, 2.5 liter with the check engine light on. The fault reader says 23. Any ideas?

Hi Chris:

That is a code for an intake temp sensor. either the sensor is bad or it has a broken wire going to it. The sensor is a 2 wire sensor and I belive it's screwed into the intake manifold on that engine It's been a while since I worked on one of these. I think the wire colors to the sensor are tan and black? Again it's been a while! I would wiggle the wires at the sensor and see if you can feel a break in the wire at lot of times the wire will break and the insulation is the only thing holding the wire on. Good luck :0
