Pontiac Repair: windshield leak, pontiac montana, weather strip

Question
I have a 2004 Pontiac Montana ext van with a 3.9 v6. I have a water leak at the winshield on the right side (passenger side)I thought was coming in at the pillar about half way up. I removed the pillar trim and the dash cover to do a water test. I resealed the glass from top to bottom on the inside with sealant that I purchased at the local automotive glass shop but the next day it rained and the water is still coming in. I want to try and seal it from the outside but don't know how to remove the trim from around the windshield. Could you explain how it is done and is this a common problem with this vehicle.I want to try everything possible that I can do before sending it to the glass shop.

Answer
Hi Bryan:

there is no easy way to fix this besides having the glass removed and the bead of sealer replaced body and the glass. Sealing it around the weatherstrip will not work. The weather strip is flexable and the sealer will not stick and if it does it will eventually fail. I belive that weather strip is part of the glass on that van it's not remabale anyways. Good luck :)
