Pontiac Repair: wheel bearing grand am, auto parts stores, abs brakes

Question
Hi Todd,
I have a 2004 Grand am with a front wheel bearing problem.
My question is could this cause my ABS sensor and my Traction sensor to be activated on my dash.
I know that the ABS sensor plugs in by the front wheel bearing assembly.
Once the bearing heats up I was wondering if that would trigger the sensors
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hey Derek:

Your on the right track. Yes if you have a wheel bearing that is bad it will effect the ABS. If the bearing is loose in  the hub it will make the abs lamp come on or make the abs brakes enguage when you do not expect it. VERY common issue with these cars. Make sure you buy a good quality bearing from a partys supplier like NAPA or Carquest. the "big box" auto parts stores products are junk! Good luck :0
