Pontiac Repair: Grand Prix Passenger Window, safe bet, regulator assembly

Question
I have a 2000 Grand Prix GTP.  The passenger window will not roll down.  When I press the switch, there is no sound or noise and the interior lights dim a bit so I would assume the switch is engaging.  Driver's side window works fine.  Any advice on what is wrong and means to repair.

Answer
Hi Dusty:

The fact that the lights dim is a clue that the swithc is more then likley okay and the power and ground is at the motor when you command it down. The motor is either bad or the regualtor for the window "that is what moves it up and down" is bound up. They are sold as an assembly the to are not service by them self. I would say it's a safe bet you need a regulator assembly.
