Pontiac Repair: Ignition cylinder issue?, pontiac grand am, engine stall

Hello There, when I try to start my car the key springs back to the off position and stalls out. I thought by replacing the ignition cylinder lock would solve the issue but it did not. New part same problem, any thoughts?

Does the lock cylinder turn back to the Off posisition when you start the car and that's why it stalls out/turn off? when it stalls do the accessories still work radio/wipers/power windows if equipped? Like it's loosing power? or does just then engine stall out? And service engine soon or any other warning lamps on? This car does not have any kind of security system from the factory but how about an aftermarket one??
