Pontiac Repair: 95 Bonnevile - defroster not working, bonnevile, climate control

In frosty climate and de-froster just quit. I expect the dashboard control unit is faulty. Is there a way to bypass the control unit so we can at least drive without scraping the inside of the windows to see?

which defroster for the windshield or for the rear window? if it's the rear window it can be a lot of things from the control unit to a relay to a broken wire on the glass. If it's the front defroster what's it doing it will not switch the air flow to the windshiled from the floor or vents etc??? Does this have manual control heater or auto climate control "digital display" Let me know.
