Motorcycle Repair: Wobbly, unsteady steering., bolt torque, suzuki gsxr

Question
Hey,
I want to start by thanking you for taking the time to read this. Im having the worst problem with an 02 suzuki gsxr telefonica. I finally got it running it had been laid over but not very bad on its right side. When you start to drive it the steering feels so shaky/wobbly/undampered that its crazy. Im scared to get it over thirty five! It almost feels like it wants to pull. I checked the rims they are good. The tires need to be replaced but I dont think thats the problem... Any Ideas?
THANKS!

Answer
Hi Rameh,

Worn tire tread may cause such problems. Did the problem exist prior to the crash? If so, replace the tires.

Otherwise, check the following:

1) Tire air pressures.
2) Wheel axle nut torque.
3) Fork pinch bolt torque.
4) Check forks for defects, (bent tubes, fluid amounts).
5) Check triple-tree (steering head set) top and bottom plates out of alignment.
6) Wheel alignment (front/rear)
7) Chain adjustment (rear wheel alignment).
8) Frame defects (bent frame).

Respectfully,
