Pontiac Repair: Electrical, pontiac gtp, interior lamps

Question
1998 pontiac GTP v6 supercharged. Blowing dashlight fuse. Started to do this intermittently several months ago and mechs could not find problem. Changed ignition out and for some reason fuse held....for 3 weeks. Now it blows frequently. What is all on this circuit that could be giving me the problem ?

Answer
Hi Glen:

I assume it's the interior lamps dimming fuse that is blowing??? If that is the case anything that has a back light when the headlamps are on could be the cause. Radio,Dash cluster,Heater control head switches in the doors. This could be a process of elimination. start unplugging one componenet at a time and drive the car untill the fuse stops blowing. I can tellyou it's unlikely that one of the components is doing it it's more like a wire harness is pinched or chafed behinf the dash or inside one of the doors. Like I said There is nor real easy way to find an intermittant short other than process of elimination. Good luck :)
