Pontiac Repair: 1996 grand am se, catalitic converter, seperatly

The exhaust on my Pontiacfell of my engine and I don't know what to do. Can you help me? It looks like the part the hooks the exhaust up to the engine is gone. I have no clue what to do. PLEASE help me out.

What engine is in this car? I'm going to guess a 4 cylinder. If that is the case there is a flex piece in the front pipe where it attaches to the engine I'm going to say that flex piece broke off. That is part of the catalitic converter on that car. From the dealer it's all one piece. I think you can go to a muffler place like Midas and they may sell that from pipe and converter seperatly and a lot cheaper than from the dealer. that is what I would look into as a fix. If indeed the flex piece broke It's NOT repairable and it will need to be replaced. Good luck and Happy holidays.
