Pontiac Repair: 1994 Olds 88 3800 V6 Engine fuel injected, intake manifold gasket, fuel injector cleaner

This car when engine cold as in overnight cold not just a few hours cold, runs rough as though the choke was incorrectly set, hovever no choke on this car, but car runs fine when warms up. Any suggestions on where to start looking for problem. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate the fact that you are taking personal time to help others.

Hi Bill:

you could have all kinds of things with this. I would start with celaning the throttle body and the idle control motor. if it is a high milage car which I'm sure it is those parts carbon up and will amke a hard start and a erratic idle. the next thing to try would be to get a high quality fuel injector cleaner and add it to the tank a product by Chervon caled "techron" works great! try a couple of tanks of that. other things could be a vacuum leak in one of the hoses a leaking intake manifold gasket youy can inf that by spraying car cleaner arounf all the hose connectons and the intake if the engine idle changes or stubles you found a leak. If it been a while since the fuel filter was changed do that as well. Good luck :0
