Pontiac Repair: new key, pontiac montana, genuine gm

Hi,2000 Pontiac Montana won't learn new Passkey 3.Followed directions in manual but security light in message center flashes 6 times.I've tried repeatedly but the key (genuine GM PK3)won't work.Tried with remote start master switch off and on.Any ideas?

I was sort of puzzed when I started to read this then I got to the end an BINGO remote start. that's the issue for some reason what ever they added to the van to make the it start and run by bypassing the factory anti-theft device is the reason you can't get the new key to program. So that is where I would start looking. I AM NOT a fan of these systems that are added onto car/vans/trucks they cause more trouble then they are worth. Good luck :)
