Pontiac Repair: 1988 sunbird door glass adjustment, power window regulator, head bolts

Question
I have replaced the roller on the power window regulator & the glass front & rear glass slide clips. The window goes up & down fairly good, but when at the top, the front goes into upper door frame before the rear of the glass leaving about a 1" gap at the rear. The only thing I see that adjusts is the front track, but this does not change situation. Is there anything else I can do to get the glass to align into upper door frame properly?

Answer
Hi Doug:

There is no adjustment on the regulator on these cars. More than likely the regulator is bent or one of the arms on it is. There is a prt on the rear side of the regulator back but door lod assembly it is a track that is bolted to the door it's called the equalizer it has 2 10MM head bolts on it If memory serves me right ther are a couple of slots in the door where it can slide fore and aft about 1/2" that's all you have to work with on that it's not really an adjustment but that is all you can do to try to compensate for the "gap" I belive that is only on the 2 door models not on the 4 door. You didn't mention wich one you have.. Good luck :)
