Pontiac Repair: Abs Trac lights, wheel bearings, wheel bearing

Question
I have a 2001 Pontiac gram am with a 6 cylinder.
Here is the problem that I am having, when I start the car and put it in gear there is a low growling sound that sounds like it is coming form the abs unit(from the front of the drivers side firewall) then the abs light, service engine soon light(next to the trac off light), and trac off light comes on. This is an intermittent occurrence. The brakes work fine.

Answer
Hi Gray:

the lamps is a service vehicle soon and it's lets you know there is an issue with one of the modules in the car. My guess is one of the wheel speed sensors in bad on one of the wheel bearings. More than likley one of the front wheels more so then the rear. take the car to one of the "big box" auto parts stores they can scan the car for codes for free and at least let you now which wheel the issue is with. It could also bee the wire harness going to the sensor. if you live in the rust belt like I do that is common as well but not a common as a wheel bearing/sensor assembly. Good luck :)
