Pontiac Repair: 00 pontiac montana hesitation/backfire, halogen light bulb, intake manifold gasket

Question
I have a 2000 montana that wont run right.  it started as an intermittent hesitation or stall.  it progressed to not running at all.  when it runs it backfires and seems as though the timing is off.  replaced crank sensor, cam sensor, ignition module and air filter. good fuel pressure. think maybe timing chain skip. i checked ohms from module to crank sensor it was reading 976. im really lost could use your help

Answer
Hi Josh:

what is the fuel pressure? that engine needs about 45 PSI to run. you sais you check the resistance at the module on the wires from the crank sensor? and you had 976 Ohms... That is a bit low but it low. did you crank the car and see in the sensor is producing AC volatge? it should produce voltage when the engine is cranked over. How about power and ground to the ignition module. That is the other 2 wire connector. turn the key on and attach a halogen light bulb to the wires the bulb should be good and bright if not you have high resistance in either the power or ground to the module. when you try to start it the van do you have a good "hot spark" on all 3 coils? The can sensor is for seqential injection and misfire diagnosis it will not effect the ignition system. did this van set any codes before it quit running? It's odd for these engines to jump time. has it had any kind of mechanical owrk doen to it like a intake manifold gasket? how is the compression on all 6 cylinders? I have seen these engies break cam shafts after intake manifold gasket repairs. dirt and debris winds up in the engine and the cam bearing seize up and the camshafts break.
