Pontiac Repair: blower fan switch, pontiac montana, exchange radio

Question
Hello Todd, I have a 2003 Pontiac Montana.  The blower fan doesn't work and 1/3 of the LED on the radio is dim.  These two things happened at the same time.  I checked the fuses.  I am wondering if there is a relay that would cause this if so, which one.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
                      Thanks, Robert

Answer
Hi Robert:

These 2 things are not related even know you said they happened at the same time. the led's in the radio burn out and are not replaceable. You need to get an exchange radio from a dealer or a junk yard or if you have a reman facility that does ac dleco work "GM" they can fix it. As for the fan does just hi speed work? and the lower speeds are in-op? If so then I'd say the blower resistor is bad if the fan is completly inop it can still be the resistor but it could possably bee the blower motor it's self is bad. Not much else goes bad with them. I have seen a few fan switches burn out on these van but not very often. Good luck :0
