Pontiac Repair: 2002 Pontiac Montana FWD, blown fuses, pontiac montana

Question
Interior lights will not come on and also the door unlock button will not work, the lock button works OK,the remote works OK

Answer
Hi Jack:

I think you have to seperate issues with this van. First off the dooor locks more thna likely you have a wire issue with that. these vans are noted for wiring issues under the right front carpet under the door sill plate. If the van has a water leak or you live in the snow/rust belt where a laot of water is tracked into the van the harness under the carpet gets water logged and there are a couple of splices under that area that corrode and thus the door lockes quit working from the switches but work with the remotes and the auot feature will still work also. No as for the lights It could be a wire issue also. They do not come on when any door is opened?? Is the override switch in the overhead console turned off?? If not then start check for blown fuses in either the right hand fuse box on the dash or under the hood but most likely in the inside fuse box. If not then it could be a lot of other things like a bad ground connection for the body control computer there are a lot of possabilities for this issue I can't really narrow it down for you. If you handy let me know And I can try to copy and paste the diaganotic trouble tree into another answer for you.
Good luck :)
