Pontiac Repair: wiper short, constant thing, model car

the wiper will make a swipe across the windshield for no reason
IM sure its a short but I dont know how to get to it

what year and model car is this? It depends on what model car as to what way I would look at this for what the cause is. It could be the switch or the control board for the motor. does it just wipe 1 time then stop or is it a constant thing? does it happen over bumps or is it a very intermittant thing?
