Pontiac Repair: 1992 grand prix, hook ups, liter engine

i got a 1992 grand prix with the 3.4 what do you think about this motor every one is telling me to get rid of it.and can you take the 3.4 out and put a 3.1 back in with out any trouble and will all the hook ups be the same.

No the original 3.4 liter engien in that car was a limited production double over head cam engine. The base 3.1 liter engine is completly different other then the bolt pattern on the block for the transmission. Those 2 engine are NOT interchangeable sorry to say.
