Pontiac Repair: Transmission Fluid Change, transmission fluid change, pontiac grand am

Hello:

I own a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, four cylinder automobile. My car has approximately 80,000 miles on it. I am curious to know whether or not I should have the transmission fluid changed and the filter changed as well.
Can you recommend what I should do?

Hi Kenneth:

I'm a FIRM beliver that the fluid should be changed/flushed ever 30,000 miles. with that many miles on the car and if it has the original fluid it it by all means change it and the filter as well! You will not hurt it at all by changing it! You will extend the life of it if you do preventive maintence :)
