Pontiac Repair: car jerks while driving, spark plug wire, pontiac bonneville

Question
I have a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville. It has started jerking while I am driving. The check engine light comes on and the Traction Off light. It seems to be jerking more often ,like it wants to stop.

Answer
Hi Joyce:

well the jerking can be a transmission problem or an engine problem. either way it's not a good thing. the service engine light on means the engine computer has detected something that it doesn't like seeing. The trac off light comes on due to the problem. it could be an engine misfire maning one or more of the cylinders are not firing right from possably a bad spark plug or spark plug wire. It could be a plugged fuel injector. As for the transmisson it could be something as simple as low on fluid or something more complex like a part inside worn out. You have to start be getting the car scanned for codes and see what ones are stored in the computer and go from there. my gut feeling is this is not going to be quick cheap fix. Good luck :}
