Pontiac Repair: Car Stalling while driving, crank shaft, fule


Question
Driving down free-way and car stalled, pull over wait a minute and it starts back up.  Changed plugs, air filter, and ignition control module. now it just will hesitate briefly while driving. 1993 pontiac grand am 2.3 dual overhead, 5 speed.

well it can be either spark or fule causing the issue. you have to narrow it down and then go from there. on the fule side it could be a bad fuel pump. on the spark side it could be an bad crank shaft sensor. what I would do is hook up a fule pressure gauge under the hood and drive it and see when it dies if you indeed still have fuel pressure if not that's the problem if so then it's a spark issue causeing the stalling. As far as the hesitation if it is a fule pressure issue that could cause a hesitation if it's low of fuel pressure or the pump is not delivering enough volume of fuel.
