Pontiac Repair: 00 Montana Window Motor mount, milage, junk yard

Question
I replaced the passenger side window motor - the clips broke and finally the posts holding the motor in broke so the motor no longer stays - how can I fix this?  Looks like I need the whole assembly inside the door replaced.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Dave:

Yes you need a complete door window module. It's the whole plastic piece inside the door that has the window regulator and door lock part of it. New this part is EXTREMLY expensive! I'd look into getting a used one from a junk yard. The only problem with that is they al pretty much wear out it's a pretty cheesie design. So try to find one off a van with low milage. The higher the milage the more likely the one you replace is already on it's way out. The easy way to tell is if the van you get one out of if the van still has a battery in it and the accesories work is to lower the window and make sure it goes down evenly and that the front part of the glass doesn't drop faster than the rear part by the door handle. If it goes up and down evenly you have a good one to buy. Good luck :)
