Pontiac Repair: Park Neutral Safety Switch Removal, pontiac sunbird, neutral safety switch

I have a 92 Pontiac Sunbird, 4cyl, AT   I am not able to remove this part. It will turn slightly to the left and I can wiggle it, but I have not been able to get it out. Can you tell me what I am not doing correctly?   Thanks

Hi Jim:
I assume you mean the switch on the top of the transmission correct? If you cna not get it to come off the shaft try a bit of snad paper on the shaft to remove any rust or corrosion on it. Also a spray of penetrating oil will help to get it off. You have to gently pry up and twist it all at the same time to get them off. Good luck :)
