Pontiac Repair: Pontiac Sunfire wont start., pontiac sunfire, fuse box

Question
The engine turns over but the instrument panel does not light up when you turn the key on for trouble lights.  The radio and other accessories work.  It sounds like it is not getting gas?

Answer
Hi Bob:

well first off when you turn the car to run none of the indicators on the dash cluster light up? how about the gauges do they operate if it's equipped with them? The car cranks but will not start. Does the security lamp turn on or start fashing? do you hear the fuel pump tunr on when the key is tuned on? You may have a security system issue or some kind of power feed issue. I would with the key in the on position make sure all of the fuses are powered up both in the under hood fuse box and the one on the left side of the dash board.. You could have a bad ignition switch, A bad ground wire on the body or at the engine... If you look into this further check to see if the car has spark when your cranking it over. Let me know anything else so I can better try to help you out.
