Volvo Repair: 2002 v70 2.4t turns signal issue, maria wilson, electrical portion

Question
Hi,

I am having a problem with my turn signals working and stop working. About a year ago, my mechanic ran the codes and it came up an intermittent failure. I am not convinced that it may be the module. Sometimes when I go over a bump, it will start working.  I have a problem mostly with the right side signal not working. Also, sometimes, my windshiled wipers will not work as well.  I looked at the steering column and moved the wires and it worked for a while. What could be the problem? If it is the module, can I replace without going to the dealer? If so, what part is it?

Thanks,

Maria Wilson

Answer
Maria, it does sound like the module or the electrical portion of the ignition switch.  I dont recommend trying to replace it yourself.  Spend the money and go to the dealer or Volvo shop.   Joes garage has no idea what to do on these newer Volvos.  Roger
