Pontiac Repair: 1992 Bonneville cooling issues, bonneville sse, climate controls

Question
I have a 92 Bonneville SSE with a 3.6L (not supercharged)  I read a question similiar to mine but would like a little clarification if at all possible.  The cooling fans (there are two) don't seem to be working.  I tried turning the a/c on but unfortunatly it has the auto climate controls and it doesn't get hot enough around here (Montana) right now to get the a/c to turn on.  My question is where should I start in tracking the problem down (I checked the fse panel in the drivers compartment and also the MAXI fuses under the hood)?  This car has a temp sensor on the radiator but I don't know if this is the temp swith for the fans.  Any guidance you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Eric:
that temp sensor is for the climate control. You will need a scan tool that is bidirectioan like a GM scan tool one that no only reads engine data but you can also command onn and off things on the engine like the fans... If all the fuses are good the next best guess would be a bad relay they are in the under hood fuse ceneter. You could have a bad fan assembly in this. that car has a pretty complex fan system on it. And your pretty much out of luck without a service manual. You could have a bad computer or a bad engine temp sesnor that is not telling the engine computer the real temp of the engine thus it will not turn on the fans.... Juat a few ideas.... Good luck :)
