Question
my car shifter assembly is what i was told was wrong. i can start my car fine but when i try to shift it wont move and when i press my shift lock release button it does nothing i have to put my hand in to the cover thing and do it manually  and then sometimes it wont give me my key back

The sifter is usually the problem when that happens. ther  are 3 other possabilities though. the wires going to the shifter may have broken off inside the connector or you may have a bad stop lmap switch or lastly a blown fuse. without seeing it it's hard to say. But I'd have to ay 95% of the time it's the shfiter assembly that goes bad. I have also see in a very rare instance the ignition switch go bad but usually when that happens the prndll lamp on the dash stopps working along with the blower motor and the radio. Good luck :)
