Question
Car sit 2 yrs,added gas to tank,won't start.  Pulled/cleaned plugs;engine started.  Allot of missing/sputtering.  2 days later,engine won't start even with ether spray.  Good fire at plug tips.  Gas coming out of fuel rail tip, not out of the fuel line going into the rail. Battery is full charged/turning over good.

Answer
Hi Carl:

You lost me on the fuel out of the tip but not the line???? You have fule pressure at the pressure gauge fitting???

I would look at the fuel system on this or a mecahanical issue. A shot out of left field the timing belt may have jumped a tooth or teeth and that's why it will not start now?? I would do a compression test and see what you have on all 4 cylinders I think that engine is a bit on the low side like maybe 130-140 PSI.. Then If that's good I would look at the fuel system Make sure you have good pressure it should have at least 35 psi to run decently. If it's lower than that you have a pump issue or a really plugged filer. The other though is the injector may have gummed up from sitting with old fuel in them. There are some "GOOD" fuel system flush kits out ther you hool them up into the fule pressure side of the system and the car will run off the injector cleaner instead of the pump you have to pull the fuse for the fump or pull out the relay for the pump to disable it and hopefully the cleaner will unstick the injectors. Just a couple of thoughts..... Good luck :}
