Pontiac Repair: 2004 Pontiac Sunfire random multiple cylinder misfire detected, pontiac sunfire, injector problems

I have a 2004 pontiac sunfire 80,000 miles. I was having no trouble till yesterday went to pull out of driveway would not pick up speed and there was vibration. had plugs and boot changed. Took it to auto zone and their machine read random cylinder misfire detected. Guy said need a new engine. Is this the only solution.

First off do not belive the guy that sells you x-mas tree air freshners and windshiled washer fluid to tell you what's wrong with your car. Now as for the random misfire it is problably a code p0300. Which means the engine is misfiring but not bad enough that it has actaully narrowed it down to 1 cylinder wqorse than the other. It can be an engine mechanical issue But i doubt it. That engine is noted for ignition coil and ignition module issues. It can be one of those. You need to get a spark checker and see which sylinder(S) are misfiring or loosing spark. My guess that is the issue.. it could also be a fuel delivery problem but that engine is pretty good on not having injector problems.. This is at least a place to start looking. good luck :}
