Pontiac Repair: gas gauge, fuel level sensor, gauge needle

my 1999 sunfire coupe has a problem with the gas gauge..i have the part to fix it i just need where to install it..the gauge needle moves but is not accurate..i have the part that accurately reads the gas..just need to install..thank you

Most of the time the issue is with the fuel level sensor on the fule pump module inside the tank. you need to drop the gas tank down and take the pump assembly out of the tank and replace the level sensor on the pump module. It's a pretty easy job once you get the tank out. the level sensor just either snaps or slides on to the pump assembly. It depends on the model year I can't remeber which on that has in it. good luck :}
