Pontiac Repair: 2002 Pontiac Sunfire SE ECOTEC 2.2, 2002 pontiac sunfire, daytime running light

My daytime running light will flash when I put the car into gear, then the service light comes on (not the check engine light) & the running lights go out.  When I turn the headlights on the drivers side was out, now when I turn on the headlights both will not come on.  Any ideas? Is this something I can do my self?  I was thinking relay. Thanks.

The car has a wire harness issue with it. It's really not a job you can do your self. The forward lamp wire harness has one or more splices in the harness that are corroded and making a bad connection for the day time running lights/headlamps. The harness gets water in it and corrodes the splce connections. The harness runs between the washer squirt bottle and the body and the splices are in the harness right there the harness has to be taken out and repaired if the harness is not to corroded or replaced all together. The harness is a bit pricey. good luck :}
