Pontiac Repair: 1999 Pontiac Grand Am - 2.4L, manifold gaskets, pontiac grand am

I have no hole in intake manifold for my egr valve (tube).  There are mounting provisions for the tube but it is sealed.  I'm re-building the engine and forgot if it had one since I couldn't find the old one.

Hey Rupert:

I can't tell you if the car came with one or not. Are you re-using the same manifold from the original engine or not? There are different exhaust manifold gaskets wether it had one or not if you put the wrong gasket on and it had an egr valve that port will be blocked off. if you call a dealer and give them the VIN # of your car they can tell you if it was equipped or not. Most of the later model ones did not have one unless you live or the car came from california. The engines did have the stuff on there for it but depending on what emissions the car was built with depended on if it got one or not. Hope that helped you out....
