Question
I changd the alternator in my grand am and first disconnected the neg battery cable after the change I reconnected the cable and the dash lights flash as well as the hazards and it will not start does something need to be reset

Answer
hey Jerry:

Sounds like you have some sort of a bad connection possibly at the battery it's self?? without seeing it It's hard to say. did the battery go dead and that was the reason for the alternator replacement. If the battery is weak it will do wierd things as well. try charging the battery up or jump start the car. low battery voltage will all kinds of stuff to happen with the newer car. to answer your original question there is no reset procedure. good luck :}

One thing I forgot to mention if this car has an alarm system on it "aftermarket" that may be your problem as well if that's the case your guess is as good as mine as to how to turn it off. every one of them is different.
