Pontiac Repair: Montana wheel bearing, front wheel bearings, wheel bearing

Question
I replaced both front wheel bearings at 86M - the right side was starting to grind. The right side failed again at 99M. Now at 118M it is starting to fail again. All alignments and the CV assembly appear normal. Should I replace the CV joint anyway? What could cause this premature failure?

Hi there. I went out of my way to help you out and you gave me a not so great rating. This is an advise web site We do not do all the leg work. If you wanted me to go the extra mile to look up some spec's for you you could have sent me another E-mail and I would have I feel you judged me unfairley. Hi Rich:

is it just a bearing failure or abs problem with light on? if it's just a bearing issue I would #1 get a good replacemnet part eithre one from a dealer or a good parts store NAPA or Carquest. Then whenyou replace it make sure the outter cv joint mateing surface to the hub is clean and not pitted or corroded. it it looks okay just replace the bearing. if it looks bad replace that as well. The last thing is the most inportant thing torque the nut properly. It the nut is to loose or to tight it will make the bearings go bad sooner rather then later. if the hub doesn't have spec's for froper torque in the box e-mail me another question and I will look it up for you. good luck :}
