Answer
Hi Pauline:

I think you have 2 issues going on here with your car. Hands down you have an Ignition switch that's on it's way out that is the reason the turn signals and heater blower do not work at times. As for the security lamp it's hard to diagnose if it's not doing it when you take it into the repair shop unless the person really knows what the yare looking for. 8 out of 10 times the problem is the ignition lock housing goes bad Really common this is the metal housing the ignition lock slides into ther is a sensor inside it and they go bad. It's a seperate part from the switch. I have seen the connector that the housing attaches to have a bad connection on it. lastly the body control module could be the cause on that car from time to time they get water inside them from the heater box assembly the module is mounted to the bottom of it and the water drips inside the module and corrodes the connectors going into it. What the technician should be looking for if they have a GM scan tool is in the body control module ther is a data list for security "pass lock voltage" or something worded like that and every time the car is cranked the voltage should remain the same it should go for 5.0 volts at key on to something less than 5.0 volts once the car is cranked and it should not varry from start to start. If it does that is the reason it will not start and I would replace the lock housing if the body control module is not full of water. Hope that was not to confusing for you. Good luck :}
