Pontiac Repair: replacing the power steering pump/reservoir, pontiac sunfire, power steering pump

What do you have to do to remove a power steering pump on a 2001 Pontiac sunfire? what i really what to do is replace the reservoir

Hi Jerry:

You need to remove the pump assembly from the car first. then put the pump in a vise or something else that will hold it in place, ther are 2 spring clips that hold the pump and resivoir together. on those clips ther is a little tang that sticks inwards towards the pump you need a small flat blade screw driver to lift them up and tap the clip off away from the pump. It's a pretty easy job once you get the pump off the car that's the hardst part.
