Pontiac Repair: Anti theft on a Pontiac Grand AM, pontiac dealership, pontiac grand am

Question
The anti theft light is on and the car will not start. The radio will not come on and the gas pump will not make any noise.
How do you reset it without having to take it to the Pontiac dealership?

Hi Larry:

You have an issue with the secuirty system. if this has an aftermarket alarm or remote start have it removed that can be a VERY likely cause of this. when it will not start let the light keep flashing for 10 minutes if it goes out then turn the key off and wait 30 seconds then try to start it again if it does start drive it to a dealer to get it fixed. If not then get it towed. If it does work and it starts it's only gonna happen to you gain just when you need to go some where in a hurry "Murphy's law" Good luck :}
