car is bucking when put in park has excellent power, drive for awhile and stop put the car in park and she will shut off

I need a bit more information on this what engine does it have? wWhen you say it bucks what exactly is it doing and does it do it before it'sd put into park or after you put it into park. Does it do it all the time? of does it do it on when you park it in a driveway and it rolls back a bit before the parking pawl stops the car from moving? When it dies does it spit and sputter before it dies or does it just shut off like you turn of the key?
