Pontiac Repair: right side sliding passengers door, sliding door, athe

Question
hi I have a 2003 Montana van the right side sliding door needs a adjustment it is touching the front door when you close it. is there a adjustment that I can make to bring the door up so it is not touching the right front door

Answer
Hi Tony:
Body work is not my cup of tea but I think I can help out. ther are 2 adjustment to can make and if you move one the other one will have to be made as well. The fist one all it does is adjust the hight of the door is the striker on the "b" pillar that is just behind the front door where the sliding door closes against. it can be moved up and down and right and left on the pillar you will have to adjust that after you adjust the lower roller bracket. to do this you have to remove the inner door panel and ther are 2 or 3 bolts that hold that lower bracket to the door lossen them up ever so slightly and have someone help you lift the door up or you can use a floor jack to lift the door up just cushion the jack from the door so you don't mar the paint. those athe the only one you can adjust on the front. on the rear you can adjust the striker as well that is on the "C" pillar which is behind the sliding door. same deal as the one on the "b" pillar. other than that that's all you can do. Was this van in a accident and that's why it'sout of adjustment? If so that add a whole new dimension to the equasion.... good luck :}
