Pontiac Repair: 97 Bonneville SE Interior Lights Not Working, door switches, power inputs

Question
The interior lights on my 97 Bonneville SE do not work, they were working erratic when I first bought the car a couple of months ago but now they stopped coming on at all. This includes the trunk and hood lights also. I have done some trouble-shooting in diagnostics and am getting the inputs from the door handles, all fuses are good and everything from the OEM repair manual points to the MALL/BCM?  Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Will:

I would second that the Mall module is bad. Some of them also have a RAP module as well it could be that. it depends on the equipment that this car has. The rap is retained accessory power module. If you have all the correct inputs from the door switches and door jam switches as well as the dome input switch and you have all good power inputs and grounds then yes I would agree it's that module. Make sure you have "GOOD" grounds. Use a light bulb across the power inputs and ground inputs and make sure the bulb is bright. if not you have a bad power or ground. You may have high resistance in one of those circuits that will not show up if you just check the inputs with a multimeter once you put a load on the circuits "the bulb" it wikll show up. Good luck and happy holidays. :)
