Pontiac Repair: speedometer, speedo sensor, speedo cable

I have a 1995 grand am se quad 4 3speed auto trans the speedo has stopped working. i have replaced the speed sensor on the trans. And still nothing. I checked to see if it has a speedo cable and it does not look like it does.
If you could give me any input on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.

Well it could be a few things. It could be a broken wire between the speedo sensor and the engine control module there are 2 wires that run that sensor. It could be a bad engine control module or a bad speedo in the insterment cluster. It's hard to say. The engine control module reads the signal from the transmission and then sends the info to the insterment panel. It could any one of the three It's not to common for that to happen so I really can't say that "X" is the problem. Sorry :( and good luck :)
