Pontiac Repair: 1992 Pontiac Bonnenvile SSE, independent auto repair, wet weather

Question
My windshield wipers quit moving mostly in wet weather. An independent auto repair service looked at the problem, charged me $59 and suggested that I need $450 to have the problem fixed. I do know the wipers motor works. What is there between the switch and the motor that can only go bad in wet weather? The wipers quit on me at an instance, I leave the switch ON and a day later the start working!
Please HELP ME

Answer
Hi Michael:

it sounds to me like a wiper motor issue or the control borad that is mounted on the motor they are also called delay board or wiper motor cover they are all the same thing just different places call it different things. When it does quit working is the best time to try to diagnose the issue. More than likely the switch is okay it's either in that circuit board or an internal failure in the motor. Good luck :)
